MEDICAL MISSION SISTERS is an international religious congregation of women with the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. Mission is about good news. Our mission is the promotion of health, healing and wholeness. Most of our members work in countries where many people are marginalised and very poor and because of this their health is particularly at risk. We search together with others for the causes of poverty and disease and work with them to bring about change.
Mission is about crossing boundaries (of countries, cultures, languages and totally different ways of life) to give the good news of God’s love that we have received from Jesus.
In England we work for justice (especially in issues that affect health). Some Sisters are involved in hospital ministry, counselling and spiritual direction, publicity and fundraising and in the promotion of a better understanding of “mission”.
